VSA WINTER FUTSAL RULES + REGULATIONS

Game Rules and Regulations

​

  • Games are 18 minutes long - running clock, no timeouts.

  • THE OFFICIAL SCHEDULE TIME IS THE GOOGLE SPEADSHEET

    • TeamSnap Tournament will be solely used for calculating results

  • The format is 5v5 (4 field players, 1 goal keeper)

  • Unlimited pass backs to the keeper are allowed

  • Sideline restarts are indirect

  • All restarts must be completed within 5 seconds

  • No goalkeeper punts

  • No slide tackles

  • All goal kicks begin with the ball in the keeper's hands

  • Defending players must wait outside of the arch till the goal keeper releases the ball from his/her hands

  • Corner Kicks are Direct

  • Goalkeepers cannot throw the ball in the air over midfield. However, they can throw over mid court if the ball touches the ground before midfield.

  • PK Rule:  Teams can foul up to 5 times.  On the 6th foul, a penalty kick is awarded from the second penalty mark (top of arch).  All subsequent fouls will result in a penalty kick from the same mark.

  • Players subbing out must be off the court before the player subbing on enters the court

  • Headers are allowed

  • At Wardlaw - there is a 3 minute turnaround between games. You must leave your court immediately and transfer over to the next. It is a one minute walk from one court to the other. Please refrain from lengthy post game speeches until after your final game. All games are running clock and will begin on schedule, regardless if the team is present or not. Thank you in advance for understanding.

  • At All Seasons - there is a 2 minute turnaround between games. Courts are side by side. With that being said, we ask that coaches refrain from lengthy post game speeches and immediately get their teams ready to compete for the next game.

  • After the conclusion of the bracket, results will be tallied on TeamSnap tournaments. Winning teams will receive medals.

  • Tie Breakers

    • Head to Head

    • Goal Differential - Maximum number of goal differential per game is 8 goals

      • i.e.:  If a team wins 10-0, the team will only be awarded (+8) in goal differential for that game​

    • Total Goals Scored

    • Fewest Goals Allowed

    • Most Games Won

    • PKs

  • This is a family oriented, player first environment. There will be no tolerance for yelling at referees, other parents, or anything of that nature.Any team that has a coach/parent/family member ejected from the tournament due to their behavior is subject to forfeiting their position in the bracket.

  • We want everyone to have a great time. Most importantly, we want every player participating to enjoy competing and developing. Thank you in advance for being part of a fun, productive day.

 

Off the Court Facility Rules and Regulations

All Seasons

 

  • For all brackets, please enter the facility no earlier than 35 minutes before your bracket begins.

  • No outside food is allowed in the facility - they will have concessions on site

  • No food whatsoever is allowed past the lobby area

  • When you enter the facility, you will be in the lobby area. The next door is for the court entrance. No food is allowed on the court.

  • Viewing Area will be on the gray perimeter of the middle volleyball court

  • The red area will be for players to warm up

  • For Warm Ups: We will have one red volleyball court in the middle that is available for teams to warm up before their bracket

    • There will be 8 teams warming up in this area. I ask that coaches be mindful and work with one another to allow everyone space to warm their players upRealistically, you can do small physical movements (dynamic movements + stretches), very tight "line based" passing exercises and ball mastery exercises in the space. "Rondos" or any sort of expansive type warm ups will not be functional within this area.

  • Medals will be handed out in the check in area at the front of the middle red court.

  • Please treat this facility as if it was your home. Respect the courts, staff, parking area, etc. Let's keep it as clean as when we first arrived. Thank you.

 

Wardlaw

 

  • Please note the above mentioned details about transferring courts quickly. Thank you.

  • There is a map oF Wardlaw's gym linked to the home page. 

  • We will have staff on site to assist teams in transferring courts.

  • Staff will also be available in guiding families to bathrooms, concessions area, and entrances/exits.

  • There is no warming up in any area located outside of the two gyms

  • There are small spaces on the perimeter of the courts where you can perform dynamic movements and stretches. You may also do ball mastery exercises.

  • Please do not plan on any sort of in depth warm up that require ample space

  • Please do not bring any food in the hallways or court area. Food can be consumed upstairs in the All Purpose Room. This is where concessions will be located.

  • Medals will be handed out in Plumeri. Pictures can be taken in the lobby area right outside of the gym.

  • Please do not linger in the hallways or anywhere outside of the aforementioned areas

  • Please make sure your children refrain from any horseplay in the school. There are cameras on site. Fines will be applicable to any club who is responsible for the damage of school property. Thank you in advance for communicating with your families the importance of treating our facilities with the utmost respect.

  • In conclusion, please treat the Wardlaw Campus as if it is your home. We want to leave it as clean as when we arrived. Thanks again!
